This jacket is black with a large scenic landscape of mountains, pine trees, buildings and a winding river in peach, rust red and grey-blue on the front and back.

Crafted from an authentic vintage Japanese tomesode kimono, this high collar jacket carries traditional textile artistry into a modern, easy-to-wear piece.

In Japanese kimono culture, a tomesode is the most formal kimono, worn at weddings and important family celebrations. Its ground is black and marked with small family crests, and the design sits only on the lower part of the garment, hand-painted or embroidered and often finished with gold. By repurposing these textiles, each jacket carries a piece of Japanese cultural heritage into a new life.

The high stand-up collar frames the face and gives the jacket a clean, contemporary line, while the kimono fabric keeps its original character. Every jacket is cut from a different vintage kimono, making each piece completely unique. The colors, motifs, and pattern placement will vary, ensuring that no two are ever exactly alike.

Lightweight and versatile, this jacket is designed for effortless layering and can be worn throughout the year as both a statement piece and an everyday favorite.

Please Note
This garment is made from vintage kimono fabric that has lived a life before becoming part of this piece. Small signs of age, subtle variations in the textile, and unique pattern placement are all part of its history and charm. Kindly purchase only if you’re comfortable with the possibility of minor storage stains.

Once a design or pattern is gone, it’s gone for good.

No lens can quite capture the quiet splendour of these kimono-print pieces. Notice the subtle differences between what you see on screen and what comes to your door: differences in lighting, monitor settings, and the hand-placed motifs make each kimono special. Those gentle differences are not flaws but proof of the craft: an invitation to experience the full palette, texture, and grace that only reveal themselves when the cloth is draped on you, catching real light, in real life.
