Collection: Tomesode Kimono Pieces

Ponchos, jackets, hoodies, blazers, palazzo pants and wrap skirts cut from vintage tomesode, the most formal Japanese kimono. A tomesode is black silk with the design only below the waist: a hand-painted or embroidered scene of cranes, pine, fans, flowers or landscapes along the hem. In our pieces that scene becomes one large placed motif on black, often across the hem or the back. Every tomesode piece is made from one single kimono and exists only once.
