Crafted from an authentic vintage Japanese kimono, these hakama pants carry traditional textile artistry into a modern, easy-to-wear piece.

Hakama are the wide, pleated trousers of traditional Japanese dress, worn over the kimono and known for their flowing, skirt-like line. This pair takes that silhouette and cuts it from vintage kimono fabric.

The fabric comes from a tomesode, the most formal Japanese kimono: black silk with a hand-painted scene along the hem. On this pair, a gold phoenix flies over clouds, fans and ox-cart motifs in soft orange, green and silver along the hem of the black silk.

Every pair is cut from a different vintage kimono, making each piece completely unique. The colors, motifs, and pattern placement will vary, ensuring that no two are ever exactly alike.
